When someone lands on your web site, you only have a few seconds to grab their attention. This does not mean bright colors or animation, but something easy to spot on the page that answers the question “What’s in it for me?” You can accomplish this with the combination of your church’s name and its tagline. While this is something your leadership, communications, and marketing teams will weigh in on; the web team should have some input, as thee website and social media outlets will be greatly affected.
Topics covered in this episode are:
- Example of a church name in action
- What is a tagline?
- How a tagline can help communicate?
- Limitations you may have
- Ways to move forward
I am not asking you to be like my church. I am asking that you take a look at your overall strategy and see what description best fits the ministries that support it. Also, I understand that changing a tagline is a massive rebranding effort, and changing a name is an even larger one. Yet if something is not working, you should start the steps needed to change it. Whatever direction your church has, communicate it with your audience. If they like it, they will surely contact you about next steps.
